BATANG MARO: The Batang Maro Cooperative, specialising in coconut-based products such as coconut milk and kerisik, was officially launched today in a ceremony at Kampung Batang Maro.
Beting Maro Assemblyman, Razaili Gapor urged the community to maximise the use of available facilities to streamline operations and boost community income.
“I hope the residents of Batang Maro will develop their socio-economy to generate income for their families.
“I also hope that the Batang Maro Cooperative will generate profits to be distributed among its members,” he said during the launching ceremony.
Razaili stressed the importance of collaborating with relevant agencies to support the growth and success of cooperatives in Beting Maro.
Additionally, he announced plans to organise the Karnival Beting Maro this September in Beladin, providing a platform for local cooperatives to showcase and market their products.
He also proposed a competition for cooperatives in Beting Maro to encourage them to expand their operations and contribute significantly to socioeconomic development.
For the record, Razaili has allocated nearly RM1 million to establish the cooperative and a collection centre, with 50 Kampung Batang Maro residents already registered as members. -UKASnews
